BBB
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) aims to promote ethical business practices, leading to an environment where buyers and sellers can operate under a common understanding of trust. Through encouraging better practices on the part of the consumer and the business and setting proper marketplace standards, the BBB provides educational material regarding general and specific desirable business practices. Firms that adhere to the mandated guidelines can attain BBB accredited businesses status.
ChFC
The Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) has been a mark of excellence for almost 30 years. Designees must complete college level courses requiring on average 450 hours. Courses cover extensive education and application training in financial planning, income taxation, investments, estate & retirement planning. ChFC is the best indication consumers have that a financial planner is well qualified to practice and exemplifies the highest standard of knowledge and trust. While there are a few other quality financial planning designations available, ChFC has more courses and more rigor than any, even though others have advertised more aggressively.
CLU
Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) for 85 years has been the world’s most respected designation of insurance expertise. Designees have completed college-level courses representing an average of 400 hours.
